It opened in 1995 as Hokkaido's first comprehensive literature museum.
This is a literary museum that houses and exhibits approximately 350,000 items related to the works of writers with ties to Hokkaido, including Ishikawa Takuboku, Arishima Takeo, Kobayashi Takiji, and Miura Ayako.
