Enjoy reading and forest bathing in the garden.
It was built in 1936 as the Mitsui Bettei New Wing (Mitsui Club), and was taken over by the U.S. military after the war, but after its return, it became the property of Hokkaido.
Since then, it has been widely used for meetings and events as the ``Hokkaido Governor's Official Residence,'' and can also be used for tours.
Also, during the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, it served as the accommodation for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.

In 1988, it was selected as one of Sapporo City's ``Top 100 Sapporo Hometown Cultures,'' and in 1999, it was registered as a registered tangible cultural property under the Cultural Properties Protection Act.
