After passing the central lawn of the campus, there is a bronze statue of Dr. Clark, the founder and first vice principal of the Sapporo Agricultural College, which all Hokkaido residents learn about from the history of pioneering. . It was built in 1926 as part of the 50th anniversary project, and was lost during the Pacific War due to metal donations, but was rebuilt in 1948.
Its quiet appearance on the lush green campus makes it a popular spot for commemorative photos.
The statue of Clark on campus is from the chest up, and the full-length statue of Dr. Clark pointing into the distance with his right hand stands at Hitsujigaoka Observation Deck on the outskirts of Sapporo.
In fact, there is another name and bust of Clark in this place. Please take a look around the campus.
